Mistletoe Margaritas Are Perfectly Festive Holiday Cocktails
‘Tis the season for tequila! OK, while having tequila at your holiday parties isn’t an official rule or anything, it could definitely come in handy.
If you’re looking for the perfect excuse to break out a bottle of tequila this holiday season (besides the fact that it’s the hectic holidays), this festive rendition of a classic margarita is just what you need.
Mistletoe Margaritas are sure to solve all of your seasonal woes. These cocktails have an addition of red coloring that makes them perfect for this time of year, and it’s all thanks to cranberries. Not only will these margaritas taste amazing, but they’ll look great with the rest of your holiday spread, whether they’re served in a pitcher or straight from the blender.
A recipe from Delish shows how you can add cranberry juice, lime and sugar-soaked cranberries to a classic margarita recipe to make it fit for the holiday party season. Considering the ingredients can simply be tossed into a blender, you’re just minutes away from a delicious cocktail. The video from the Delish Facebook page shows you how these margs are made:
You can also skip the blending step altogether and serve this on the rocks if that’s more your style.
If you love the color that the cranberries add to the drink, but aren’t necessarily crazy about that cranberry flavor, there are a couple of ways you can remix this recipe to make it suit your taste buds. For instance, this version from Amy Sheree calls for pomegranate juice to accompany the cranberry. A bit of honey is also included to counteract the tartness, making this drink a bit sweeter. Oh, and the sugar on the rim doesn’t hurt, either.
There’s also a rendition from How Sweet Eats that uses cranberries as garnish, though there’s still a bit of cranberry flavor, as the recipe calls for the slightly more subtle white cranberry juice. The juice is mixed with both fresh lime and orange liqueur. Talk about a crowd-pleaser.
Margaritas like these are sure to make Christmas a little brighter! The more margaritas, the merrier!
