One Mom Endured 452 Needles To Get Pregnant

Around 1 in 8 couples will struggle to become pregnant or stay pregnant. Yet, many people still hesitate to discuss infertility.

Well, one Texas couple who spent years and countless tears—not to mention thousands of dollars—on their journey to parenthood, decided to share a very powerful image of the reality of infertility.

Lauren Walker, a yoga teacher who had been trying for years to get pregnant with her husband, Garyt, posted this incredible photo:

Along with the image, Lauren shared these touching words:

We prayed for 953 days…

452 Needles
1000’s of tears
1 corrective surgery
4 clomid/letrozole attempts
2 IVF rounds
3 failed transfers
& 1 Amazing GOD.

We are overwhelmed with joy to finally announce that we are expecting boy/girl TWINS!! ??????

Indeed, Garyt and Lauren endured many hardships before finally being blessed with their son and daughter. Lauren miscarried numerous embryos, and the couple had to take a $14,000 loan from the bank in order to be able to continue their fertility journey. All told, they spent $30,000 trying to become pregnant.

However, as Lauren details above, the decision to stay strong in their faith and keep trying paid off…and now they have a little boy and girl on the way!

Hopeful couples from around the country have commented on Lauren’s post, saying that the image has touched their hearts and reignited their motivation to continue trying to conceive.

Lauren credits their faith, their supportive family, and her and her husband’s strong bond for helping them to stay strong during their years of disappointment. And although it was painful, heartbreaking and overwhelming at times, Lauren said the experience helped her to become stronger and more faithful.

“I MADE it. I’m stronger. It didn’t break me. The prize is not these twins,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “The prize is discovering new found faith. The GIFT is these twins. I didn’t know I was capable of such strength and fight.”
