This Mom Is Teaching Us All A Lesson In Kindness Using Nothing But Toothpaste

The Internet is known for producing all kinds of awful content and hurtful words, so when something this inspiring comes along it shines like a gem among the virtual lumps of coal.

This mom used toothpaste (of all things) to teach her daughter a very important lesson about middle school, and it’s a lesson we can all learn from—nomatter how many years it’s been since you were a middle schooler.

After helping her daughter prep for a big first day of school in all of the typical supply-shopping kind of ways, she handed her daughter a tube of toothpaste and asked her to squirt it out onto a plate.

Then, she asked her daughter to place it back inside the tube. Of course, the daughter freaked out. There’s no way she could ever get it back in the tube again.

The mom went on to use this as an analogy for our words and the way we treat others. She posted the lesson to Facebook:

“Just like this toothpaste, once the words leave your mouth, you can’t take them back. Use your words carefully, Breonna. When others are misusing their words, guard your words. Make the choice every morning that life-giving words will come out of your mouth. Decide tonight that you are going to be a life-giver in middle school.”

This is good stuff here, you guys. A very important life lesson that extends much beyond school age.

Who knew you could get all that from a tube of toothpaste? Can someone get this mom some kind of “Best Back-To-School Prep And Life Advice, In General” Award, stat?
