Mom Writes An Epic Note To Teach Her Son A Lesson In Gratitude
A parent’s gotta do what a parent’s gotta do. Not all parenting styles are the same, and that’s perfectly fine. But, if you’re looking for a lesson in how to handle a teenager, this mom may have found the answer.
After reportedly lying about doing his homework and smarting off to his mom, 13-year-old Aaron Havisham got a rude awakening.
If he was going to act more like a disgruntled roommate rather than a respectful son, then he was going to have to act like a roommate.
His mom, Estella changed their living arrangements in an effort to prove just how lucky Aaron was to have the things he had. Those lights don’t turn on for free, you know? And if he didn’t know, he surely does now.
She wrote up the terms of their new arrangement (to make it official, of course) and posted the note to Facebook .

Here, you can see her son would be required to pay his fair share of rent, internet, food, etc. The bill totaled $717, which is no small price for a 13-year-old.
She’s since posted a follow-up that says her son is trying much harder and practicing a little gratitude.
So, it seems as though their little arrangement worked. Sometimes kid’s have to learn the hard way.
What do you think: A little tough love never hurt? Or did this mom take it too far?
