The American Kennel Club has released its list of most popular dog breeds for 2018.

The results aren’t too shocking, actually. Once again, Labrador retrievers topped the pack. Since they have done that the past 27 years in a row, no one was surprised — and the AKC itself thinks Labs show no sign of losing their number one spot anytime soon.

“Labs make wonderful companions for a wide variety of people, and for good reason,” AKC executive secretary Gina DiNardo said in a statement. “The breed is very intelligent, friendly and great with children.”

In fact, the top 10 list hasn’t changed much from the previous year, except that Yorkshire terriers and German shorthaired pointers switched places. Yorkshire terriers moved back a spot, while the pointers went up.

So here’s the list:

1. Labrador Retriever

Well, I mean, look at that adorable face! This loyal, outgoing, laid-back pup definitely deserves to be the number-one dog breed.

Poodles come in a few different sizes, but all of them are curly and adorable. They’re also smart and low-shed, which doesn’t hurt their popularity ranking!

9. Pointer (German Shorthaired)

Pointers are lithe, enthusiastic and eager to please, which is why we love ’em. Oh, and the spots.

10. Yorkshire Terrier

These sprightly little Yorkies are sure to win your heart with their feisty ways. Such sweetness deserves every award.

The next dog breeds on the list are boxers, Dachshunds, Pembroke Welsh corgis, huskies and Australian shepherds.

Of course, the very best dog in the world is your own dog, but it’s still fun to see how they all rank anyway.
