This movie theater offers bottomless wine and lets you bring your dog

Can you imagine sipping on bottomless wine while hanging with your dog and taking in a film? If that sounds like your ideal day, a Texas movie theater has you covered.

K9 Cinemas in Plano, Texas, allows patrons to bring their furry friends with them. The cinema offers cozy seats that are perfect for snuggling up with your pup while watching the movie, and for the $15 ticket, you get admittance for you and your dog, plus bottomless wine or up to four whiskeys.

For an additional $5, you can bring along a second pooch. Talk about the perfect lazy day!

Your dog must be up to date on her vaccines and, of course, you must clean up after your pet.

From the looks of the happy customers pictured on Instagram, this place is just as fun as it sounds. Just look at this group of friends and their doggos ready to enjoy a movie:

“Had a blast with the squad!!!” wrote Instagrammer @schnausage_adventures. “@trustee_abbygirl @burnt.toast.waddlebutt at K9 cinemas! Awesome theater in Plano, TX that is #petfriendly. We even met an awesome piebald doxie!”

Of course, no trip to the movie theater is complete without snacks, so you can snag popcorn and other human treats — as well as special snacks for your dog — at the theater’s concessions. You can even order ahead to skip the line.

Eric Lankford, the creator of K9 Cinemas, was inspired to launch the theater after adopting his dog, Bear. He thought there was a need for more dog-friendly public spaces.

Here’s Lankford and Bear ahead of the theater’s grand opening in December 2018:

“There’s no complicated thought process outside of that,” he told Dallas Observer in 2018.

“I just wanted to have a business that I loved,” he explained. “And this is truly the first company that I’ve started that I can say with all my heart is something I’m truly passionate and happy doing.”

Bear, of course, frequently appears in the cinema’s social media posts, such as this one in which Bear celebrates the change from chairs to couches:

Plenty of other pooches seem to love the cinema just as much as Bear does.

The collie belonging to @thesupercolliesmom on Instagram seemed to have a blast at a movie viewing in February (and his owner enjoyed the bottomless wine!).

Proud Texan @trippintexasgal posted on Instagram on May 5 about her night at the dog-friendly cinema, including a photo of a beautiful dog lounging on the couch, perhaps waiting for the feature to begin!

And plenty of pups, such as this cutie @tex.mex.da.pom, who has his own Instagram account, posed with a doghouse made to look like the house from the movie “Up” back in December 2018.

There even seems to be K9 Cinemas-branded merchandise, like this t-shirt (for humans) that expresses the wearer’s preference for dogs over people!

Would you bring your dog to see a movie at a dog-friendly cinema?
