You Can Get Paid To Travel Around The World And Drink Gin

Dream job alert! Here's how to apply.

Gin drinkers: Would you like to get paid to travel and enjoy your favorite gin-based libations around the world? It might sound like a fantasy, but the job is real, it’s up for grabs, and you have until Aug. 27 to apply.

Mr. Fogg’s, a group of Victorian era-inspired bars in London, is teaming up with the iconic gin creator Bombay Sapphire to offer gin-lovers the chance to compete for an incredible prize: the chance to travel around the world in 80 days on all-expenses-paid luxury vacation.

This video on Vimeo explains the idea behind the contest:

The prize is quite apt as Mr. Fogg’s is named after none other than Phileas Fogg, the hero of Jules Verne’s famous adventure novel “Around the World in 80 Days.”

In London, Mr. Fogg’s is well known for their gin parlour, which features more than 150 gins from around the globe.

So, what exactly are Mr. Fogg’s and Bombay Sapphire looking for in the lucky winner?

According to the application, Mr. Fogg’s is seeking someone who is “well-versed in the medium of ‘social media,'” and “unoccupied and ready to accomplish this adventure between the dates of August 2018 and November 2018.” They are also seeking a candidate who is a talented writer, and it is important that you have read “Around the World in 80 Days” — and that you have frequented one or many of the Mr. Fogg’s locations. You must be 21 years old to enter.

Last but not least, you have to be “willing to clothe oneself in Victorian finery.” We have a feeling this means you’ll be asked to wear this garb for at least part (if not all) of this global journey.

Hey, for a trip around the world (estimated to cost more than $10,000), who wouldn’t be willing to wear a petticoat or a top hat? It’s a small price to pay for the adventure of a lifetime.

But don’t dally while dusting off your petticoat. You must apply for this adventure before Aug. 27.
