These Stuffed Bagel Bites Are My New Favorite Easy Breakfast
Bagels are the perfect morning companion. Whether you want them sweet, savory or even a little spicy, there is a bagel and cream cheese combo for everyone. Since their alleged creation in Poland in the 14th century, the recipe for bagels has not changed very much over the centuries. Why mess with perfection?
Alas, now there is a new twist on this breakfast tradition. Instead of putting cream cheese ON a bagel, why not put cream cheese IN a bagel?
Nancy’s Petite Stuffed Bagels have done just this. The frozen stuffed bagels are now available nationwide for $6.99 a box, and they are the solution you need for brunch, early morning meetings or just a lazy weekend morning with the kids.
Each bagel is stuffed with Philadelphia cream cheese and they cook quickly in the oven. Whether you want to make few boxes for party guests or just a couple bites to go with your coffee and newspaper is up to you.
The stuffed bagels come in four flavors: original (a plain bagel with traditional cream cheese), jalapeno (an asiago herb bagel with jalapeno cream cheese), apple cinnamon (a cinnamon sugar bagel with apple cinnamon cream cheese) and pumpkin (pumpkin spice bagel with pumpkin puree cream cheese).
The company sent my family some boxes to test out and we eagerly dove in. As someone who needs an I.V. of sugar at all times, I loved the sweet-flavored apple cinnamon bites. My husband preferred the spicy and herby flavor of the jalapeno bagels, but the pumpkin flavor was also a hit.
And as a mom, I really appreciate the novelty of a bagel that has cream cheese on the inside, because I can’t tell you how many times my three-year-old has dropped her bagel (cream cheese-side down, of course). Plus, they are easy to eat on the go if you want to hand your kids a few to eat on the school bus!
A portable bagel stuffed with cream cheese in a variety of flavors? Awesome! Look for them at your local grocery store or local Walmart.
