Watch Neil Patrick Harris And James Corden’s Epic Broadway Riff-Off

If you don’t watch “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” now is a good time to start. Everyone’s favorite adorable Neil Patrick Harris (of “How I Met Your Mother” and “Doogie Howser, M.D.” fame, among a number of other roles) visited the show this month and it was something special indeed… because there was a Broadway Riff-Off.

After Corden and NPH debated over which of the two was “truly more Broadway,” it was announced there would be a Broadway Riff-Off. And needless to say, it went DOWN.

“Your silly jokes can wait, Corden. We have a score to settle, and it’s about Broadway,” Harris yelled to the host from the sidelines.

All of this occurred before NPH even had his sit-down interview, and evidently the star had a point to prove.

“I see you going around hosting the Tonys, acting like you’re the only TV star who can sing Broadway show tunes,” Harris told Corden on TV. “Some of us, dude, have actually won a Tony!”

Well. The gauntlet was thrown down indeed. You might recall that Corden is also the host of Carpool Karaoke, and therefore no stranger to the singing game.

Harris and Corden sang everything from Broadway classics to ballads to even the unbeatable “My Shot” from “Hamilton.” Honestly, we would watch NPH and Corden rap any day of the week. They’re amazing.

With this year’s Tony Awards coming right up, we can only hope that Corden will be asked to host the show once again. The 2017 ceremony will happen on June 11th and will be aired on CBS, the network that also hosts “The Late Late Show.”

Here’s the entire video of NPH and Corden strutting—or rather, singing—their stuff. There’s no shame in watching it over and over again until the end of the work day. We get it. We’re planning to do the same exact thing because this riff-off was legen… wait for it… DARY!
