Hot Topic’s Disney Princess Collection For Adults Is Surprisingly Wearable

Let’s face it. “Grown-up” Disney fans (such as myself) love finding ways to show off their love for their favorite characters. But sometimes it can be hard for an adult princess to let her royal colors shine through without getting a few raised eyebrows along the way. Fortunately, Disney and other retailers, including Toms footwear and LuLaRoe leggings, have started meeting the demand by offering some magical merchandise.

Now Hot Topic has launched their own Disney princess fashion line for today’s modern woman. Known as “Destination Disney,” this fashion line is a collaboration between Hot Topic and Her Universe, a company that specializes in fashion design for fans of everything from Disney and Star Wars to superheroes.

Designers from Her Universe created looks for a number of the popular Disney princesses, including:

Rapunzel

The “Tangled” heroine’s signature look is the inspiration for this collection. From a perfectly purple ombre dress featuring a sun embellishment on the collar ($59.90) to a crossover bag modeled after what Flynn Rider carried in the film ($39.90), any “Tangled” fan can embrace her inner princess with pride.

Mulan

This collection by designer Lindsay Orndorff is worthy of a warrior hero. Hoodie fans will love the sleeveless sweatshirt vest ($29.90). A pair of jogger pants ($36.90) complete the ensemble. And what princess doesn’t love shoes? Fans of Mushu the dragon can soon pick up a pair of red kicks inspired by Mulan’s hilarious sidekick.

Ariel

Explore life “Under the Sea” with a collection inspired by Ariel of “The Little Mermaid.” You can get a pair of scale pants ($49.90) that any mermaid with new legs would love to have. And of course you have to have a shelled top to complete the mermaid look, right? The collection has an adorable off-the-shoulder smock top with a shell pattern ($32.90-$36.90).

Tiana

The princess who temporarily turned into a frog has a playful collection, too. There’s a plus-size cold-shoulder romper ($49.90) adorned with flowers and lily pads (of course!) that looks perfect for a summer picnic.
