Aldi Stores Are Rolling Out New Healthy And Ready-To-Eat Products
There will be so many new options! Here's what we know so far.
While Aldi might be your one-stop shop because of its budget-friendly prices, the retailer recently announced that it’s rolling out even more enticing reasons to visit the store: new organic, easy-to-prepare food options.
In addition to more fresh and organic options at Aldi, specifically in the produce and meat departments, the budget-friendly chain aims to increase its number of stores from around 1,800 to 2,500 by the end of 2022 as part of an ambitious growth plan — an investment totaling more than $5 billion.
With a 40 percent increase in fresh and healthy food options, customers can plan to see:
- More ready-to-cook and organic meats, like organic chicken breasts and marinated cilantro lime chicken breasts
- More options in the produce section, including veggie noodles and ready-to-eat sliced fruits
- More plant-based items in the signature Earth Grown line, including new vegan and vegetarian options like kale and quinoa crunch burgers and chickenless patties and tenders
The store will also be adding more of the grab-and-go items it’s known for, including single-serve guacamole and organic hummus, cold antipasti salads, gourmet olives and organic salsas. New drinks and refrigerated beverages — such as strawberry kefir and kombucha — will also hit the shelves, and the bakery will see whole-wheat pita bread, gluten-free bagels and fresh-baked sourdough loaves added to its lineup.
Dairy-free shoppers will see new options they’ll want to add to their carts, including lactose-free soy milk and coconut milk.
“The continued success of our store expansion and remodel initiatives has given us the opportunity to carefully select and introduce new products that satisfy our customers’ increasing preferences for fresh items, including organic meats, salad bowls, sliced fruits and gourmet cheeses,” Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi U.S., said in a press release.
The goal, Hart explained, is to streamline the shopping experience for Aldi customers, making it “even easier for them to purchase everything on their shopping list at Aldi, while still saving money.”
And when it comes to grocery shopping — or just shopping in general — that’s something that is bound to please every customer.
