Pillsbury is introducing cornbread that’s ready to eat in 20 minutes

Cornbread is one of my favorite foods to make once the weather starts getting cooler. There’s something so cozy about dipping it in soup or chili, or serving it alongside other comfort foods.

The downside, of course, is that cornbread can take a while to make — and the process of making it can be messy. There is a new solution to these cornbread woes, however, and it comes from a company that knows a thing or two about baking: Pillsbury.

New Pillsbury Cornbread Swirls, a ready-to-bake cornbread, is ready to serve in less than 20 minutes. The new shortcut to home-baked cornbread bakes up just like Pillsbury’s other products (like biscuits), as you simply place the swirls of dough into a muffin tin and then put the tin in the oven to bake.

Available nationwide, each package comes with six individual cornbread swirls.

If you want something more homemade, there are a handful of cornbread mixes on the market, like Jiffy and Krusteaz. There’s also the brand Kodiak, which makes 100% whole-grain cornbread that includes 10 grams of protein per serving, if you’re looking to make your cornbread even heartier.

If you’re up for it, you can try making your cornbread from scratch. This recipe from Cafe Delites takes about 30 minutes to make and calls for butter, flour, yellow cornmeal and a few other baking staples.

Of course, you’ll also need some food to go with your cornbread. Check out this recipe for chunky lentil and vegetable soup or this easy hamburger soup if you want something with meat. These stew recipes would also go perfectly with a side of cornbread.

You could also use the Pillsbury Cornbread Swirls in some recipes, including cornbread corn dogs or BBQ beef and cornbread casserole.

No comfort meal is complete without dessert, so you may want to add another new Pillsbury product to your shopping list as well: Heat & Eat Brownies and Cinnamon Swirls. The new treats are ready in the microwave in less than 30 seconds and include icing or fudge drizzle.

Will you be trying any of these new products from Pillsbury for your next comfort meal?
