A New Budweiser Clydesdale Is Born

Let’s play a little word association here. When I say Budweiser, do you think Clydesdale? Maybe. After all, the brand has become quite well-known for their commercials involving the large horses. And recently, Budweiser welcomed a brand new member to the Clydesdale family.

According to ABC 13 News Now, the newest foal, Jake, was born on Mar. 18 at 4:30 a.m. He was born at the Warm Springs Ranch, the facility responsible for breeding the Budweiser Clydesdales, in Boonville, Mo.

Once you see the photos and videos of Jake (especially the one where he’s learning to walk), you’re sure to fall in love with this little guy. Although, he won’t stay little for too long.

According to Petbreeds.com, Clydesdales can get up to 18 hands tall at the shoulder (which is the equivalent of two yards) and weigh around 1,950 pounds. So “little” Jake won’t be little forever, so let’s all enjoy this moment while we can!

In fact, if you live in the area or (or you don’t but are inclined to pay these horses a visit anyway), the ranch is reportedly open for tours. They began on Mar. 25 and according, they’re offered twice a day, except on Wednesdays. The cost: $14.

If you are able to pay the stables a visit, you’ll get to see Jake in action, and I personally can’t think of anything cuter. And even if you can’t visit the horse in person, you could very well see him on your TV screen one day. Breeders told Rare that he “already has the look and the attitude” to become one of the famous TV Clydesdales.

Since the horses have been Budweiser’s trademark since 1933, according to Westword, don’t expect them to be going anywhere anytime soon. Especially with a horse as adorable as Jake in the mix. Much like the famed commercials, Jake is bound to become your favorite part of the Super Bowl. I don’t know about you, but I’m more than ready for his TV debut!
