Are you a chocoholic? If more chocolate is your mantra, then you need to give the latest Oreo recipe a try. It might seem like Oreo cookies are all you see lately, from adorable Love Bug cookies for Valentine’s Day to the latest Oreo Most Stuf on the shelves. But, the chocolate sandwich cookie with a delicious creme center just lends itself well to so many desserts.
Now, think about combining a classic Oreo with a decadent chocolate cupcake! This Oreo Dirt Poke Cupcake recipe from Betty Crocker brings together five fun treats: Oreos, dirt pudding, chocolate cupcakes, poke cake and the traditional cupcake into something so rich and delicious, your guests will be begging you for more.
With layer upon layer of fudge and chocolate, this cupcake could be the cure to what ails any chocoholic. The ingredients are pretty basic:
- 1 box of Betty Crocker Super Moist Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
- Water
- Vegetable Oil
- Eggs
- 1 12-ounce jar of chocolate fudge topping
- 1 box (4-serving size) chocolate instant pudding and pie filling mix
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 8-ounce container of whipped topping
- 1 (14.3-ounce) package of Oreo cookies, crushed
Start out this recipe by making the cupcakes according to the directions on the back of the box. Once they are cooked and out of the oven, poke three sizable holes in each cupcake.
Then, take your fudge topping and microwave it for up to 30 seconds until it’s pourable. Spoon the fudge over the cupcakes, filling the holes and covering the cupcakes. Next, beat the pudding mix and milk until well combined. Then, fold in the whipped topping. After that is combined, add the crushed cookies to the mixture (saving 1 1/2 cups for topping.)
Gently spread the mousse mixture on top of the cupcakes and then top with remaining crushed cookies and chocolate fudge.
This recipe makes 24 cupcakes and can be stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve. But, we don’t think they’ll last that long!
