For those who remember the nostalgic ad jingle “Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener,” now is your chance to get behind the wheel of one. The company that produces these famous hot dogs and cold cuts is hiring drivers to navigate its Wienermobile, a hot dog-shaped vehicle that treks all over the United States.

Get Ready To Hit The Road

Given the job title of “Hotdogger,” the paid position will last a year and begins in June 2019. The hired temps will become major road warriors, as their assignment requires 100 percent travel. You’ll get to drive in the Wienermobile to events around the country and make appearances at schools, corporate gatherings, fairs and more.

While being able to trek across the country and get the keys to this company car are nice perks, being a “Hotdogger” also comes with some hefty responsibilities. Those who can cut the mustard will be paid an undisclosed salary to run a mobile public relations firm from this hotdog-on-wheels and receive benefits and a work uniform.

According to the job posting, a Hotdogger also serves as an Oscar Mayer goodwill brand ambassador. He or she will have to make media appearances on television and radio, participate in newspaper interviews and attend charity functions and grocery store and military events. So being outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic, plus having an appetite for adventure — and, we’d guess, meat products — is crucial. If you are a hot dog-lover, this could be the job for you.

What’s Required

A bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, journalism or advertising is preferred, but the job is not completely restricted to these majors. Being bilingual in Spanish is also helpful. But you better get grilling — the deadline to submit your resume and cover letter is Jan. 31. Email wmrequest@kraftheinzcompany.com.

So, if you fit Oscar Mayer’s list of ingredients — er, requirements — go ahead and apply for this job. But you may want to stock up on some ketchup, mustard and relish first.
