This travel agency will send you on a trip for $650—but you won’t know the destination until you get to the airport
Ever wanted to just pack your bags and go somewhere new? Well, here’s an affordable way to do just that!
The Pack Up + Go travel agency takes the hassle out of planning a trip. All you have to do is let the agency in on your budget, give them a timeline for your trip, answer a few survey questions, and pretty soon—you’ll be on your way to an unknown destination.
That’s right—they keep your destination a surprise until the last minute. Because that’s part of the fun, after all. OK, OK, they let you in on where you’re going eventually.
Prior to your trip, you’re sent information about weather at your destination, tips on what to pack and all of the necessary information for planning for your two-day, three-night stay. Then, one week before you leave, you’re sent an envelope that you’re not supposed to open until vacation time!
When you arrive at the airport, bus stop or train station, you open the envelope to reveal where you’re going! (Note: If you choose to open it sooner, that’s your prerogative, of course. But c’mon, don’t be a party pooper!)
You could be sent to a variety of mid-sized cities in the United States, and the company will already have planned where you’re staying, given you tips on what to do and where to go in the area and, well, basically mapped out your entire trip for you.
You can book a trip three weeks out or earlier, and the price you pay is dependent on your budget. Although, according to Hello Giggles, prices for a multi-traveler option begin at $650 per person and $1,000 for solo travelers, since there’s not another traveler to split the cost of accommodations.
If you’re willing to take an adventure, this definitely seems like the travel agency for you!
Now, if you’re a little hesitant to spend money on a trip you might hate, then you may feel comforted by the fact that the survey you fill out before the vacation planning begins provides the company with information about your goal for the vacation (i.e. relaxation, adventure, etc.) as well as your hobbies and interests.
The survey also asks about places that you have recently visited or have upcoming plans to visit to avoid repeat trips, plus they ask about the type of accommodations you prefer and if the trip is to celebrate anything specific.
Most likely, the more detailed information you provide, the happier you’ll be with your surprise vacation.
And no matter what—this is bound to be a getaway you won’t soon forget! When’s the last time you left something as key as your vacation destination up to a bit of chance?
