Panera is testing double bread bowls in this one city

Panera Bread

Bread lovers living in Philadelphia can look forward to a very exciting August. For a limited time only, Panera Bread will test out the Double Bread Bowl in select locations across the City of Brotherly Love.

From Aug. 5 to Aug. 31, Panera will offer the Double Bread Bowl on its menu at 32 locations in Philadelphia, in-store and through delivery. Fill the double bowl, which is made out of a single loaf of bread, with two of Panera’s signature soups or mac and cheese, and dig in with a friend. Or by yourself — we won’t judge!

Although Panera is only debuting the Double Bread Bowl in Philadelphia, bread lovers from all over the country are already jumping for joy on social media.

One Twitter user, @MsHannahFrazier, applauded Panera for exhibiting the kind of creative innovation we should expect in 2018.

And @ms_conner wrote that she is “1000% ready” for all the carb-filled goodness.

Meanwhile, @k__hogs, called the Double Bread Bowl “something I never knew I needed but now cannot live without.”

And @taymaple, pointed out that the Double Bread Bowl throws a wrench in her diet plan. (Same!)

Bread lovers elsewhere in the country will have to wait to see if Panera will roll out the Double Bread Bowl nationwide — that will all depend on whether or not the test run in Philadelphia is successful, according to a Panera spokesperson who spoke with Delish.

In the meantime, why not take an impromptu vacation to the City of Brotherly Love? We’re sure your boss will understand.
