Paqui’s new Spicy Queso chips let you have your dip and eat it too

As an avid lover of all things queso-related, I jumped at the chance to sample Paqui’s new Spicy Queso chip flavor. I mean, come on, who could resist?

The chip brand recently launched the new Spicy Queso flavor along with Wild Wild Ranch, adding a grand total of five flavors to their roster.

I had the chance to sample all five flavors, and I’ve got to say, these are exactly what you’ll want to have on hand the next time you serve chips and salsa, especially the Spicy Queso flavor. Because you just can’t beat dipping a queso-flavored tortilla chips into queso, you know? The more queso, the better, in my personal opinion.

Paqui (rhymes with hockey) is an Aztec word that means “to be happy,” and incorporating these chips into your diet will surely add a little bit of happiness into your life—with each and every bite.

Staying true to their name, the brand puts an emphasis on “happy and healthy” when creating their products. All Paqui chips are non-GMO, contain no trans fats and are made with all-natural ingredients.

Sold on these so far? Then, just wait until you taste them.

Flavor Breakdown

Let’s talk about each flavor in more detail. I hope you’ve already had lunch by the time you read this because otherwise, you’re going to work up a serious appetite. Each and every one of these flavors will surely have you craving Mexican food—so at least you know what you’ll be having for dinner tonight!

Spicy Queso

Their newest flavor addition surely does not disappoint. It’s got a bit of a kick to it, but nothing too overpowering—think jalapeno-level hot, in terms of spiciness. Just as you’d imagine, these are very cheesy and the distinct taste of cheddar comes across with every bite. It’s got all the makings of a perfect queso dip, just in the form of a chip.

Paqui

Cool Salsa Verde

The Cool Salsa Verde were probably my next favorite of the bunch. They’re not spicy, but boy are they packed full of flavor. They’re flavored with green chile powder and tomatillo powder, and that definitely comes across in each and every crunch.

Paqui

Nacho Cheese Especial

These were similar to the Spicy Queso flavor, except they were much more toned down in terms of heat. So if you’re not into spicy things, these are more your speed. That classic nacho cheese taste is oh so good!

Paqui

Wild Wild Ranch

If you’re the type of person who likes ranch with anything and everything, then you’re going to love these. They’re made with real buttermilk and spices and are the perfect cool complement to spicy salsa.

Paqui

Haunted Ghost Pepper

These are not for the faint of heart. Made with ghost pepper, these are definitely hot, hot, hot. But still, I couldn’t help but eat them. They’re definitely some of the spiciest chips I’ve ever had, but I enjoyed them in a “hurt so good” kind of way. Eat at your own risk.

Where Can You Buy Paqui Chips?

If finding out all about these flavors has you ready to get your hands on some Paqui chips, I can’t say I blame you. These chips are sold at Walmart, Kroger, 7-Eleven and online a Paqui.com. Each bag retails for $3.99. Visit their website to find a retailer near you.

My Salsa Recipe

In case you’re looking for a yummy salsa to pair with these chips, I’m happy to share the recipe I’ve made it my mission to perfect—because hey, we all have our hobbies. This is great because it can be adjusted according to preference, so make a batch and add garlic, cilantro, peppers and more to taste. Play around with it until you get it just right!

  • Three tomatoes, roasted
  • 1/2 cup red onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 serrano peppers, chopped (could also substitute jalapenos or pepper of choice)
  • Cilantro to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/2-1 habanero pepper for extra spice (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and serve chilled.

When you’re finished, it should look a little something like this:

Now, all that’s left to do is to start dipping!
