Paul Rudd handed out cookies to voters waiting in the rain to cast ballots
As if the world couldn’t love Paul Rudd more, he’s gone and given free cookies to people waiting in the rain to cast their early ballots ahead of the presidential election today.
Guster drummer Brian Rosenworcel shared footage on Twitter that shows Rudd, 51, handing out cookies from the Milk Bar bakery to voters waiting in line at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last week. He also posed with voters for photos, despite the heavy downpour. The “Avengers” star, who wore a face mask and plastic gloves to protect himself and others from the spread of COVID-19, says, “I want to say thank you for coming out and voting and doing your part.”

Rudd’s sweet gesture went viral as others shared their experience on social media.
“Paul Rudd is handing out cookies to early voters voting in the rain @ Barclay’s Center. I like him x100 more,” wrote Twitter user @onjrayuh alongside a selfie with the actor, who also played Mike Hannigan (Phoebe’s husband) in “Friends.”

Rudd was also interviewed by digital news platform NowThis at the polls.
“It should not be hard to vote,” Rudd said. “People should be getting the day off from work. Polling places should be everywhere. This should be easy, not difficult.” He also explained why he felt compelled to hand out cookies, saying, “Anyone who is waiting in line, you know, deserves to be, kind of, I think, thanked, and encouraged, and recognized.”

On Oct. 20, Rudd and his Marvel co-stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle and Zoe Saldana assembled for a virtual fundraiser in support of Joe Biden, taking part in Marvel trivia and a question and answer session.
They were among the latest group of stars to do so, following the cast of “Hamilton” reuniting on Oct. 16, the cast of “Seinfeld” reuniting for Texas Democrats on Oct. 12, and the cast of “The Princess Bride” doing a reading of the script for Wisconsin Democrats on Sept. 13. The cast of “Happy Days” came together again for Wisconson Democrats on Oct. 26 as well.
Election Day is upon us, so we won’t be seeing any more of these types of fundraisers, but we hope the coronavirus-fueled virtual reunions continue!
