Peanut butter dessert ‘lasagna’ looks absolutely decadent

We love recipes that take a traditional concept and turn it upside down. For instance, if we ask you to think about your favorite lasagna recipe, you’d probably imagine something with melted cheese, tomato sauce and maybe ground meat all tucked into hot layers of lasagna noodles. And while few things in this world are better than a classic Italian lasagna meal, what would you say to a sweet lasagna instead that will make you want to skip the pasta and go right to dessert?

As you can see from the photo above, this peanut butter lasagna isn’t anything like your grandma’s classic take on the layered dish. Each layer is sweeter than the last and they all come together for a decadent dessert that everyone will insist you spent hours making.

But Holly Nilsson’s recipe actually takes less than 30 minutes to whip up!

After that, it will need to set in the refrigerator for at least three hours, but your work is done at that point — except for work required to keep the family out of the fridge before it’s ready!

The recipe may be called peanut butter lasagna, but the multiple variations of chocolate along with whipped cream and cream cheese all blend together into four layers of lusciousness. There’s a rich cookie base followed by a peanut buttery, fluffy cloud topped with another layer of chocolate. Then, to top it all off, there’s a creamy top layer with candy, which is then drizzled with chocolate. Your sweet tooth will be satisfied in many ways.

One pro tip Nilsson offers when constructing the peanut butter lasagna is to give each layer a short time in the fridge to let it set. This will make a difference later on when you go to slice and serve it. You want your dessert to look as good as it tastes!
