A Peanuts-themed hotel just opened in Japan, and here’s a look inside

Everyone who remembers Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strips or the beloved cartoon specials knows the lovable “Peanuts” gang.

The prolific Schulz drew nearly 18,000 “Peanuts” strips and a total of 45 “Peanuts” television specials were created — that’s a lot of output!

Now fans of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the others can take their love for the iconic comic to a new level by staying in the recently-opened Peanuts Hotel in Kobe, Japan.

Peanuts Hotel

The Peanuts Hotel opened Aug. 1, and it offers 18 rooms, a Peanuts Cafe and a Peanuts Diner. Each of the boutique hotel’s three floors has its own theme of “Imagine,” “Happy” and “Love.” The first-of-its-kind hotel takes its concept from the comic strip scene where Snoopy’s home is visited by small birds who join him in a nap atop his dog house. The scene ends with Snoopy commenting, “It’s nice to have a home where your guests feel comfortable.”

Here are a few images of Special Room 61, which is the nicest of all the rooms:

Of course, Snoopy plays a prominent role in the decor:

This room even features a lush terrace:

“The unique and profound comics of ‘Peanuts’ drawn by the author Charles M. Schulz where friendship, love, philosophy of life, etc. abound offer a world in which everyone from children to adults alike can identify with,” according to a press release. “It is a casual and friendly designer hotel that transcends time and generations, and where guests can feel the roots of Peanuts, where a community and connections with a variety of guests can be built, and where the hearts of people staying and meeting in ‘Peanuts Hotel’ will be warmed.”

Let’s take a look at some of the cutest rooms in this property.

Room 64 is themed “Happiness is a warm puppy” and is entirely designed in the color millennial pink. Even the fireplace, chairs and bathroom are pink!

The vibrant walls and artwork really add to the theme:

Room 41 is themed “It Was A Dark And Stormy Night,” which is a reference to how Snoopy usually began novels — written via typewriter atop his dog house — with this ominous phrase:
