Pickle-Fried Chicken Is Coming To KFC—Here’s When You Can Get It

Order while you can!

Pickles are really having a moment lately, from pickle mozzarella sticks to bacon pickle fries to pickle ice cream. And now, a famous fried chicken chain is serving up pickle-fried chicken.

KFC tantalized their Instagram followers with this big hint they dropped on Instagram:

Yes, pickle-fried chicken is heading to a KFC near you. The news has been confirmed by KFC.

“People are crazy about pickles, and pickle-flavored products are becoming today’s trendiest menu item,” said Andrea Zahumensky, chief marketing officer for KFC U.S., in a release. “Pickles and fried chicken are a match made in heaven, with tastemakers everywhere pairing these flavors.”

She noted that customers “have been clamoring for more pickles,” so KFC is “giving them what they want by coating our Extra Crispy Chicken with a mouthwatering pickle sauce that delivers a craveable punch of pickle in every bite!”

In order to respond to the pickle-sized hole in our hearts, KFC is now making some of their most beloved menu items available with this new pickle flavor. You can order the Crispy Colonel Sandwich, Extra Crispy Tenders, Chicken Littles or Extra Crispy chicken with the new pickle sauce.

So, what does the new pickle-fried chicken taste like? A writer at Bustle got a preview, and it’s clear she is a fan:

Along with the classic flavors of dill and vinegar that we associate with pickles, you will get buttermilk, onion, garlic and a blend of white and black pepper from the sauce, she reports, calling it “a sour and salty delight.” Yum! Another reviewer also enjoyed the new creation, calling it “groundbreaking.”

If you want to give this new pickle-fried chicken a try, you better move fast, because it won’t be around forever. Each participating KFC will only receive a limited supply of the salty-tangy goods, and once their sauce is gone, it’s gone for good.

Look for pickle-fried chicken at KFC starting June 25 at participating KFC locations. And enjoy!
