Pillsbury filled crescents are a tasty new treat

Nothing beats the smell and taste of freshly baked pie. Whether your favorite is apple, cherry or pumpkin, there’s no denying just how comforting a delicious slice of pie can be.

Unfortunately, most of us don’t have time to bake a pie whenever a craving strikes. Thankfully, Pillsbury understands and has created a brand new treat that should not only satisfy your pie craving, but can also be whipped up in minutes.

Pillsbury’s new filled crescents are the first refrigerated filled crescents on the market. Each kit includes a can of crescent rolls, a packet of filling and a packet of icing. No other ingredients are required.

Think of them like a roll of cookie dough that you just have to slice and bake — it’s that easy!

The new treats come with either a warm apple or cherry filling. You can find them in some stores now, but they will be hitting shelves nationally by the end of July. The best part? A package of eight costs $2.99.

Filled crescents are a good bet when it comes to portion control. At 140 calories per pie, they’re definitely a better choice when you just want a little treat, rather than an entire pie.

You can, of course, bake a pie in your own kitchen. But there are also plenty of apple pie-inspired recipes that are pretty simple to make.

This caramel apple dump cake only has four ingredients and requires almost no work. All you have to do is layer pie filling, caramel, cake mix and butter into a baking dish and throw it in the oven. You can also top it with ice cream or whipped cream if you want!
