Pink and Carey Hart’s daughter debuts purple hair for 7th birthday
First and foremost — it’s important to get this out of the way: Pink likely does not care what you think about her decision to let her daughter dye her hair purple. And good for her!
Just before her daughter Willow’s 7th birthday, the little girl debuted her awesome deep purple locks online, and while some parents have different feelings about how appropriate it may or may not be for a child to get their hair dyed, Pink’s doing her own thing and letting her daughter do the same.
The singer has been open in the past about how she and her husband, motocross rider Carey Hart, promote self-confidence and finding beauty in all kinds of people. So, is it shocking that when their daughter wanted to dye her hair purple, they let her? Not really.
In fact, Hart seems very pro-purple himself.
He wrote on Instagram, “Have you met my daughter Wednesday Addams??? Love you munchkin.” He even added the hashtag “#MyDaughterIsMorePunkThanYours,” which is hard to argue with!

We love his funny reference to Wednesday Addams. There is a bit of a resemblance!
Of course, Pink’s clan is not the only family to go gaga for purple locks. Colored hair is definitely trendy right now, with blackberry hair and other shades of purple being high on the list of colors in demand.

Pink Emphasizes Self-Acceptance For Her Kids
Willow’s mother has made it a point to foster a sense of self-love in her children, as she shared in an anecdote when accepting a lifetime achievement honor at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.
After her daughter told her she was the “ugliest [girl] she knew” and that she “looked like a boy with long hair,” the mom had to open her daughter’s eyes to a new way of thinking:
“When people make fun of me, that’s what they use — they say I look like a boy or that I’m too masculine or I have too many opinions or my body is too strong, and I said to [Willow], ‘Do you see me growing my hair?’ She said, ‘No, Mama.’ Do you see me changing my body? ‘No, Mama.’ Do you see me changing the way I present myself to the world? ‘No, Mama.’ Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world? ‘Yes, Mama,’” Pink recounted.
She continued, “So, baby girl, we don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl. We help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty.”
And as their daughter continues to grow up, she’s becoming “such a strong, smart, sensitive, little girl,” according to a post from her dad on Instagram:

It certainly seems as if Willow is shaping up to be a strong-minded girl who’s not afraid to be herself!

All in all, these parents are just letting their kids be kids, and they’re working to promote their best qualities so they’ll be the best people they can be. And I gotta say, that seems like a great parenting method.
As for the purple — it looks great on her! (And the puppy on little brother Jameson’s head looks just as good!)
