The American Music Awards are coming up on Nov. 19, and the previously announced lineup of performers was already giving us plenty to get excited about. But according to a press release, our lives are about to get even better: The rumors are true—Pink and Kelly Clarkson are going to perform together for the first time ever!

Not only are these two taking the stage together, but they’re going to open the show. We have a feeling that their performance is going to be a tough act to follow! Thankfully, however, seasoned artists such as Christina Aguilera and Selena Gomez are also scheduled to sing, and considering they’re amazing vocalists in their own right, we suspect they’ll be able to hold their own.

Performing alongside Pink has been on Clarkson’s wish list. So she’s probably just as excited as we are for the duet.

“I’m a huge fan of Pink. I haven’t had the chance yet to work with her,” Clarkson told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month. “I think if you project it enough, it might happen, right?”

Fans couldn’t be more excited to see these women perform together.

The tweets have come rolling in, proclaiming the sheer joy this news has brought to so many people. “MY. HEART. CAN’T. TAKE. THIS,” one fan wrote.

Many think a Pink-Clarkson collaboration has been a long time coming.

People are already calling this performance this “the musical event of the year.”

Because with two “powerhouse performers” together on one stage—it’s hard to be anything but absolutely amazing.

Not only are Clarkson and Pink outstanding vocalists, they’re also incredible champions for women. Clarkson had a Tweet go viral after someone online called “fat.” She shut them down with just four words: “and still f***ing awesome.” Bravo!

And Pink is out to teach her daughter (and people everywhere) that women don’t have to look a certain way to be successful, happy or loved.

“So, baby girl,” she said during her VMA acceptance speech. “We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl.”

From calling out fat-shamers online to teaching their children to love themselves just the way they are to belting out moving lyrics like so few performers can—these two pop stars are so inspiring.

Who else is ready to see these empowering women take over the AMAs?! Tune in on Nov. 19  at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
