Pink’s daughter is selling candy backstage to raise money for charity

Your average 6-year-old may not be thinking about raising money for charitable causes, but when your mom’s a major activist herself—it seems fitting. Pink’s daughter, Willow Sage, is selling candy backstage at her mom’s rehearsals to raise money for a good cause. So, clearly, the inclination to help others runs in the family.

It was Willow’s dad, Carey Hart, who posted about his daughter’s kind deed on social media.

“Willz and her friend Gracie wanted to do some charity work. So they bought bulk candy and set up a table in catering at mama @pink rehersal [sic] Hall. They are donating the money to #Haiti ,” he wrote on Instagram. “Good work ladies, doing your part.”

A 6-year-old’s got to keep herself entertained while passing time at work with mom (even if mom is a famous singer!), and selling candy for a cause sure seems like a great way to do that.

When she’s not raising funds, Willow’s found other ways to keep herself occupied while her mom’s busy preparing for her world tour. Rollerskating, for instance, is a fun way to pass the time.

It’s safe to say that Willow isn’t living the average life of a 6-year-old, but that doesn’t mean that her parents aren’t working hard to make sure that she and her brother don’t miss out on some of life’s most important lessons.

Pink’s all for inspiring children and women, as she proved with an initiative to raise money for UNICEF, an organization that works to “promote the rights and well-being” of children and women.

The singer has also reportedly supported charities that work to end animal cruelty, support women’s rights, fight AIDS and more. It’s pretty clear that she’s working to teach her children to do the same.

Along with allowing them to support causes they find important, she’s also teaching her kids to love themselves, and really all people in general.

In a moving speech at the VMAs, she shared with the audience the advice she had recently given her daughter after the 6-year-old told her she was the “ugliest girl.”

“So, baby girl, we don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl,” Pink said. “We help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty.”

Pink and her husband are also raising their children to be not to define themselves by their gender.

“We are a very label-less household. Last week Willow told me she is going to marry an African woman,” Pink told The People, “I was like: ‘Great, can you teach me how to make African food?,’” the mom responded.

And it appears as though Pink won’t miss a moment with her kids, as she’s taking them with her on her upcoming world tour. Based on this Instagram post, Pink, her husband and their two kids will be traveling together:

So that means little Willow will have plenty of opportunities to learn from and be inspired by her mom. Oh, and to sell her candy backstage, of course. How sweet!
