10 Hilarious Pinterest Fails Prove These DIYs Aren’t As Easy As They Look
We’ve all been there before. You spend hours pouring through Pinterest, becoming inspired all the while. But, when you finally set your sights towards recreating a DIY you pinned, you don’t always yield such Pinterest-worthy results.
What went wrong? You followed the directions step by step, but somehow, you’re not quite the crafter you thought you were.
Like I said, it happens to the best of us. Even if you don’t get an incredible dish or a great home renovation out of the project, at least you can have a good laugh about it, right?
Yes, yes indeed you can. And these Pinterest fails only prove it. Scroll through these ten tries at greatness, but be prepared to cry with laughter. Don’t worry, we’re not laughing at these people, we’re laughing right along with them. Because let’s face it – Pinterest tutorials are easier pinned than done.
1. Homemade Samoas
Everyone loves those girl scout Samoa cookies, right? Well, have them year round if you can follow this recipe. But, that’s a big if!
2. 1-Minute Mug Cake
Cakes that bake in the microwave are sometimes too good to be true.
3. Cookie Dough Bowls
Wouldn’t it be nice to eat your ice cream out of a cookie bowl? Umm, yeah if they didn’t stick to the pan!
4. Painted Upholstery
Welp, clearly this only works with solid-colored furniture. It’s going to take quite a few more coats to cover that floral print, I’m afraid.
5. No-Sew Pillow Cover
Well, that sure did look better in the photographs on Pinterest, huh?
6. Swirl Nails
Nail art is never easy, no matter how Pinterest makes it seem. Don’t be deceived!
7. Kool-Aid Lip Stain
When it comes to making your own beauty products, sometimes it best to avoid it. Leave it to the professionals, you know? Or at least those who post it on Pinterest.
8. Fourth Of July Layer Cake
Ahh, yes, the layered cake. Do these ever turn out right? I’m convinced not!
9. Waffle Iron Omelet
Cooking things in the waffle iron seems quick and easy, but not when the clean up is this much work, you know? It’s called a waffle iron for a reason. It’s meant to make waffles and only waffles, as far as I’m concerned.
10. Egg Shell Seedlings
I definitely don’t have much of a green thumb, but these egg shell seedlings seem so cute, I may have been tempted to try this out, too.
To all of the people who have failed at Pinterest recreations (myself included), I feel for you. I really do.
