Pippa Middleton and James Matthews wed on May 20, and people still haven’t stopped talking about the fabulous affair. That’s partially because there were a lot of beautiful details to take note of, and Middleton’s “something old” is definitely one of those lovely little touches.

The wedding wasn’t a typical “royal” wedding, but was instead an intimate gathering, and as a source told People magazine, it was everything the couple wanted.

“This is the wedding Pippa and James dreamed of,” a close source told the magazine. “They said all along they wanted it to be a private family wedding at home in the beautiful countryside with their closest friends and family.”

As photos from the big day roll in, it’s hard not to notice everything from Middleton’s tiara to her stunning dress. And as the Huffington Post points out, her tiara wasn’t the only special piece of jewelry.

On her wedding day, Middleton wore the same earrings she wore as a bridesmaid in her sister Kate Middleton’s famous royal wedding. So, was this the bride’s “something old” from the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” tradition? It was definitely a nod to her sister, to say the least.

As a bridesmaid, she wore a simple, yet gorgeous white gown.

To complete the look, she paired delicate diamond earrings with her dress, and they’re the same pair she decided to wear on her wedding day.

As you can see in the photo, these earrings appear to be identical and go quite nicely with her all-over lace custom Giles Deacon wedding dress.

This was a sweet way for the bride to incorporate her sister’s wedding day into her own special day. But, of course, that’s not the only way the princess was involved in her sister’s nuptials.

According to The Sun, the Duchess of Cambridge was responsible for drawing a sketch of St. Mark’s church where Middleton and Matthews wed. The sketch was placed on the wedding program that was handed out to all of the guests, and will surely make quite the keepsake for the bride and groom.
