Pippa Middleton and James Matthews welcome a baby boy

Pippa Middleton has given birth to her first child, a baby boy.

“Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well,” her representative told People. The baby was born on Oct. 15.

Middleton, who married hedge fund manager James Matthews in 2017, delivered their first child in the same maternity wing where her big sister Kate delivered all three of her children.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James,” a spokesperson at Kensington Palace said on behalf of her sister, Kate Middleton, and Prince William.

The birth comes on the heels of the news that Meghan Markle is expecting a baby and is due in spring 2019. What an exciting week for the entire family!

Matthews and Middleton haven’t released their baby boy’s name yet, but no doubt they are busy enjoying visits from family and friends, including the baby’s first cousins Prince George (age 5), Princess Charlotte (age 3) and little Prince Louis (5 months old).

Sister Kate will likely have lots of wonderful advice for Pippa, both about being a first-time mum and dealing with a media frenzy when leaving the labor and delivery ward.

Though she was nine months pregnant, Pippa looked stunning in her emerald green dress at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle last week. Princess Eugenie and Pippa are good friends, and the princess even attended Pippa’s wedding last year.

Pippa has been open about her fitness regime during pregnancy.

“I’ve noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it’s been strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth and recovery … And ensure that post-baby, my old favorite jeans will still fit eventually!” she said of staying healthy throughout her pregnancy.

We have no doubt she will be back in her favorite denim in no time, but here’s hoping she takes some time to rest, recover and enjoy this special moment.
