Popeyes is selling a ‘Churkey’ meal for Thanksgiving

Popeye's

Traditionally, Thanksgiving is all about the turkey. However, the holiday is looking a little different his year due to the pandemic. You might be foregoing your usual large celebration with extended family and friends in favor of a smaller meal with just the members of your household. Why not embrace this decidedly different Thanksgiving in 2020 by switching up the menu as well?

If you’re ready for an unconventional main dish, try out the new Popeyes CHURKEY special. Offered in partnership with Uber Eats, it features eight pieces of Popeyes’ crispy fried chicken and comes with one large side and four biscuits. It’s priced at $19.99, and when you spend a minimum of $20 on your order, you’ll get a free chicken sandwich combo as well. Some sides that will help round out the meal include Cajun fries, mashed potatoes and red beans and rice. No cooking or cleaning required!

Just like as with a traditional Thanksgiving feast, it sounds like you’ll have plenty of leftovers to spare!

On Nov. 20, Uber Eats tweeted out, “I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you have permission to order fried chicken instead of turkey this year.” This gave Popeye’s the opportunity to respond with news of the Churkey.

The special deal is available through Nov. 29, so even if you opt for actual turkey on Turkey Day, you can still enjoy this festive feast. You should note that the plastic turkey noted in the images is not included, however.

If, on the other hand, you just can’t imagine Thanksgiving without turkey, Popeyes is also offering a Cajun-style turkey marinated in Creole butter that comes precooked. Prices start at $39.99. Simply defrost and reheat in the oven.

Keep in mind that many Popeyes locations will be closed on Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 26, so be sure to call your local restaurant to confirm hours of operation and plan ahead.

Yum! Would you skip turkey this year in favor of some fried chicken from Popeyes?
