Here Are The Most Popular Baby Names In The U.S.
Every year, the Social Security Administration releases the most popular baby names of the previous year. This year’s report (for 2015 babies) shows that Noah and Emma are the big winners.
The Social Security Administration also provides an interesting report showing the most popular baby names over the past 100 years. Michael has had the top spot for more years than any other name (44 years) and Mary has been the most popular name for girls (40 years at the top spot).
Business Insider put together some cool graphics to show the trend of the baby names over the past decade.
The top six boy names (Noah, Liam, Mason, Jacob, William and Ethan) haven’t changed much from 2014. On the girls’ side, Business Insider reports that Isabella peaked in 2010 and that coincides with the peak in popularity of the Twilight franchise.
