Now that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are officially husband and wife, they can move on to the next stage of their lives together. According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the newlyweds are in full-on nesting mode and have signed a two-year lease on a home on the Great Tew Estate in the Cotswolds, a lush and beautiful area that is just a 90-minute drive from London.
The pair (along with Markle’s adorable dog!) is currently waiting for renovations to be completed at their Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, which will serve as their primary residence. Until then, they will reportedly spend their weekends at their new country home.
“Meghan loves the Cotswolds and fell in love with the estate the first time she went,” the source told Us Weekly. “They recently had security cameras installed around the perimeter.”
With their super-busy schedule, the royal couple is definitely overdue for some rest and relaxation! The Great Tew Estate describes itself as encapsulating “much of what might be considered the archetypal English Country Estate. Spring lambs playing in rolling grassland, oak woods with a carpet of bluebells, chocolate box thatch cottages.”
The idyllic village also counts another famous British couple, David and Victoria Beckham, among its residents. Ahead of the wedding, Markle’s spa-themed wedding shower was hosted at Soho Farmhouse, a members-only retreat located on the estate.

A shortage of places to call their own won’t be a problem for the pair, as Queen Elizabeth II is known for giving property as wedding gifts. She gave Prince William and Duchess Kate Anmer Hall on her private Sandringham Estate after they wed in 2011, and some people predict that she’ll gift Prince Harry and Markle another cottage on the same estate.
Here’s hoping we get a glimpse of the couple’s new homes — as well as how they decorate them — sometime soon!
