Calling all Mia Thermopolis fans! “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” is coming to Netflix — so get ready to relive the princess magic with a face mask on and a wine glass in-hand.

The movie is slated to begin streaming on Netflix on August 1, so there is not much longer to wait. Be sure to schedule a girls’ night in so you and all of your lady friends and their daughters can pile up to watch as Anne Hathaway — aka Mia — turns 21 and finds out she can succeed her grandmother as the queen of Genovia if she gets married within 30 days!

Returning in this sequel film is the lovely Julie Andrews and the funny Hector Elizondo, but Chris Pine also makes his debut as the love interest. Oooh!

The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” was released in 2004, so there’s a good chance you’ve already seen this film. But considering it’s been quite a few years since then, here is the trailer to jog your memory:

If you’re still trying to figure out how to recreate that mattress surfing scene, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ll have it sorted out by the time your Netflix viewing party arrives, but please do so carefully!

The original “Princess Diaries” is also available to stream on Netflix now, so if you need to see the first movie before the sequel drops, let the movie-watching begin!

Of course, all the “Princess Diaries” movie viewing you’ll be doing will have you longing for more. Director Garry Marshall has hinted that there could be a “Princess Diaries 3” to look forward to in the future.

“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do ‘Princess Diaries 3’ in Manhattan,” Marshall told People magazine back when Hathaway was expecting her first child. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”

A script for the third film already exists, so it’s just a matter of getting all of the previous actors to sign on for a third film. We can’t wait for the day the third movie comes to Netflix, too. In the meantime, catching up on the original and the sequel will have to do!
