There’s going to be another royal wedding! Princess Eugenie is engaged
Move over, Meghan Markle! There is a new royal wedding in the works, this time featuring a real-life princess and her long-time beau. Kensington Palace has just announced that Princess Eugenie (daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York) is engaged to marry Jack Brooksbank.
The couple got engaged earlier this month while on vacation in Nicaragua. They first met in 2010 when they were both skiing at Verbier, an exclusive Swiss ski resort that is frequented by many members of the royal family.

In case you need a refresher course on the British monarchy, Princess Eugenie is eighth in line for the throne. She is the sixth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth, and first cousin to Princes Harry and William.
Princess Eugenie’s mother, The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson (better known as Fergie in the U.K.), shared a special message about her daughter’s engagement on her own Instagram page. The sweet message reads, “They float with laughter and love.”

Fergie also posted another photo, which included this emotional reflection, “A total embrace of goodness and joy. We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and a best friend. Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony.”

Wow. That is so moving. It seems like Fergie is going to enjoy her role as mother of the bride!
And look at that gorgeous engagement ring on Princess Eugenie’s finger! It is a blush-colored padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds. What sets a padparadscha sapphire apart from a traditional sapphire is that the gem is a mixture of red and yellow sapphires, which creatures the beautiful rosy hue you see below in Princess Eugenie’s ring.
Eagle-eyed fans of the British royal family have noted that Princess Eugenie’s ring is also quite similar to Fergie’s engagement ring:
As @MajestyMagazine just pointed out to me there is a striking similarity between Princess Eugenie's engagement ring and her mother @SarahTheDuchess's engagement ring. How lovely pic.twitter.com/BW8hGb2Xs3

The couple are planning to wed in the same church where Prince Harry and Markle will be married, St George’s Chapel in Windsor. But don’t worry—no one is going to steal Markle’s thunder. Princess Eugenie will have a fall wedding, long after the hoopla from Prince Harry and Markle’s spring nuptials has died down.
Congrats to the newest engaged royal couple!
