Pro athletes who are dating or married to celebrities

While it’s common to find Hollywood stars dating or marrying each other, actors and professional athletes often pair up, too.

It’s certainly not a new phenomenon (we’re looking at you, Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio), but it’s interesting nonetheless. Check out some of the top celebs who are currently or have in the past been romantically linked to pro sports players.

Candace Cameron and Valeri Bure

Known for her childhood role of D.J. Tanner on “Full House” (and the 2016 spin-off “Fuller House”) as well as her previous co-hosting duties on “The View,” Candace Cameron met professional hockey player Valeri Bure in 1995. She was at a charity hockey game cheering on “Full House” co-star Dave Coulier when she met the young Montreal Canadiens player. They married a year later and have three children together.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

Country singer Carrie Underwood met Mike Fisher backstage at one of her concerts. The Ottawa Senators hockey player was friends with her bassist. The two hit it off immediately and were engaged a year later. The couple wed in 2010 and are currently expecting their second baby.

Ciara and Russell Wilson

R&B singer-songwriter and dancer Ciara and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson began dating in 2015. The couple exchanged vows in 2016 at Peckforton Castle in Liverpool, England. Together, they are raising her son, Future, and their daughter, Sienna.

Elisha Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf

The Canadian actress and model has become well known in the U.S. following her roles in “24” and “The Ranch.” In 2013, she married Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman Dion Phaneuf, who currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings. They welcomed their first baby, daughter Zaphire, in 2017.

He proposed after they had been dating for just four months and they were wed the following year. Their daughter, Jolie Rae, was born in January 2016. The “Reba” and “Once Upon a Time” actress met the Major League Baseball player when they were set up on a date by a mutual friend. The pair said, “I do” in 2010. They have two daughters.
