Perdue has new chicken nuggets with hidden vegetables

If you asked a group of kids what their favorite food is, odds are you’d hear chicken nuggets at least a few times. Chicken nuggets are one of the tried-and-true meal options for parents of small children.

However, the odds are also that you won’t find many kids who list a vegetable as one of their faves. Luckily, if you have a child and struggle to get them to eat their greens, there are now chicken nuggets packed with 1/4 cup of veggies to make sneaking them in way easier!

Perdue’s new Chicken Plus line of all-natural chicken nuggets, tenders and patties may be full of vegetables, but Perdue says they taste just like the nuggets kids and picky eaters already know and love. The nuggets blend cauliflower and chickpeas (11 grams of protein!) and are made with 100 percent all-natural ingredients and antibiotics-free chicken.

“Perdue Chicken Nuggets have been a staple for families for years, but we wanted to provide an easy way to round out the meal and help parents put an end to the ‘eat your vegetables’ battle,” Eric Christianson, chief marketing officer for Perdue said in a press release. “By blending plants and vegetables with the Perdue chicken families love, not only are we helping to meet demands for millions of parents but we are appealing to the growing number of flexitarian families who have an increased commitment to getting more plants and vegetables in their families’ diets.”

Just in case your kids happen to hear that there are hidden veggies in the nuggets, know that they come in dinosaur shapes to make them extra hard to resist. The new Perdue Chicken Plus products come in a 22-ounce bag with a suggested retail price of $6.99 and are available in the freezer aisle of grocery stores nationwide.

If you’re looking for more ways to sneak veggies into your kids’ meals, you can also buy cauliflower ranch fries to eat with the chicken.

Plus, Heinz just released a new veggie ketchup that sounds perfect for anyone who likes to dip their nuggets! Just like the chicken, Heinz says the ketchup tastes the same, just has added benefits of carrots and butternut squash.
