Quartz nails have become one of the hottest new trends in nail art

Dark nails. Slivers of silver. Swarovski and rhinestone embellishments. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone comes up with a clever new way for us to dress up our fingernails. The latest trend to edge its way into the nail art spotlight? Rose Quartz-inspired nails. And while nature-inspired trends such as Marbled nails or Himalayan Rock Salt-esque nails have been around for a while now, this new adaptation is all about quartz and its beautiful, pale-pink essence.

The actual Rose Quartz gem is known to carry a soft and feminine energy, bringing peace, tenderness, healing and comfort to those who carry it. And while your freshly painted nails likely won’t be emitting any healing powers or loving energy (darn it), this manicure is still undoubtedly soft and feminine, not to mention super-cool. And not only will this fresh, spring-like look get you lots of compliments, but it’s just subtle enough to be appropriate for any situation (unlike these creepy Halloween nails, which we still can’t help loving).

Regardless, this new, sophisticated nail trend seems like a lot of fun, and in watching this video tutorial from The Nailasaurus, mastering the look appears to be fairly simple, too.

The particular video actually highlights how to achieve a marbled look on your nails, but the Quartz trend is essentially done using the same technique. You just have to swap out polishes. Instead of using white and dark gray, you’ll use shades of sheer pink and white.

And this isn’t the only way to go about achieving the look. YouTube has even more nail art tutorials that can help get you started. But in the end, no matter how you get there, you’re guaranteed to be in love with the results.

Here are some of our favorite photos of the Quartz nail trend that have been posted on Instagram:
