We all know spring’s a time for a good deep cleaning and de-cluttering session to really get your home feeling light and fresh again.
But, it’s good to organize and get rid of clutter throughout the year, for many reasons, but mainly because it can feel so good.
Ok, so we all dread actually having to go through and organize our things (or is it just me?), but don’t you feel much better once you’re finished? I know I do.
That’s likely because the act of getting rid of things can clear space not only in your home, but also in your mind.
Here are four reasons why de-cluttering can be such a cathartic experience:
1. Clear Space, Clear Mind
If your space is clean and clear, then your mind can be, too, in theory. Of course, you’ve got a lot going on, so it’s not like cleaning will rid you of all of your problems, but it will certainly help you be able to focus on more important things.
2. Less Stuff To Worry About
Less stuff means less stuff to deal with, clean, etc. So, getting rid of as much as you can will only save you time and worry in the long run.
3. Relieves Stress
Not only is the act of organizing stress-relieving, but having a clear space will eliminate stress. It’ll have you feeling good, not just for the moment, but for as long as your space is clean and organized.
4. Makes Room For Change
When you get rid of things that you don’t need, you leave room for things you do need. Just think. Are you having to get rid of old clothes because you lost weight? If so, just think of how fun it will be to fill your closet with new pieces that actually fit.
With a space that’s clutter-free, the possibilities for growth are endless for the mind and more. So, get to cleaning why don’t you?
