Rod Stewart Posed for Rare Family Photo with His 4 Sons

Rod Stewart usually keeps his personal life fairly private, but the legendary rocker recently gave fans a glimpse of his family life when his wife, Penny Lancaster, shared a photo of the couple enjoying a day at the beach along with Stewart’s four sons.

Stewart and Lancaster have been married since 2007 and share two sons together: Aiden, 7, and Alastair, 12. Also pictured were Stewart’s son Sean, 38, from his first marriage to Alana Stewart and Liam, 24, from his second marriage to Rachel Hunter.

“Family time down in Malibu,” she captioned the family photo.

In addition to his sons, Stewart is also dad to four daughters: Renee, 26 (with Hunter), Ruby, 31 (with model Kelly Emberg), Kimberly, 39 (with Alana Stewart) and Sarah Streeter, 55, who was raised by adoptive parents but later reconnected with her biological father.

In an interview with Rolling Stone last month, Stewart reflected on how he’s changed as a father throughout the years.

“Children have always been important to me — very important,” he told the magazine. “But I had Kimberly and Sean in the late ’70s when I was considerably in debt, and I had to go out and work a hell of a lot, so I missed a great deal of their growing up. We’ve sat down, and we’ve talked about it. I’ve said, ‘You know, your dad wasn’t going out, going to parties, and shagging and drinking. I was working me ass off trying to get out of debt.'”

These days, Stewart strives to be more of a hands-on dad.

“I’ve built a lovely AstroTurf pitch for my two youngest boys,” he explained. “One’s 12, and the other one’s 7. We go out there every evening. I try and teach them a few things. That is the most wonderful thing ever, just playing football at my age with your kids.”
