Roseanne Barr, John Goodman have a ‘Roseanne’ reunion and show they still have chemistry at Golden Globes
TV sitcom royalty took the stage at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards as Roseanne Barr and John Goodman reunited to present one of the night’s most prestigious awards.
The actors, who are starring together again in an upcoming reboot of their classic ABC show “Roseanne,” were on hand to announce the winner of the best TV series—drama category. But, despite the serious nature of the shows nominated, the TV husband and wife managed to bring some laughs.
It may seem strange to have this pair present a drama award, but don’t worry, Barr had a good explanation for their selection.

“I’m kind of known for creating some great drama,” Barr said.
And, of course, Goodman went into full Dan Conner-mode with his comeback, “Yeah, not the kind you get awards for.” Classic chemistry continues between these two.
It’s not exactly clear how the show’s writers will explain Goodman’s Dan being back in the new version of “Roseanne,” which is scheduled to debut on March 27. After all, the last scene of the original series revealed that Dan had died. So, how will that figure in to the new show? No one is exactly sure, but the creators decided to have a little fun with the question in a promo video for the new reboot:
There’s a little bit of double-inside joke there, by the way. Alongside Goodman and Barr, Lecy Goranson also appears the promo as Becky Conner. You may remember the actress left the original series early on before being replaced by actress Sarah Chalke for the rest of the show’s run. But, the writers decided to bring Chalke back into the new series in a different role! We can’t wait to see how that plays out and what kind of fun the writers will have with it.
Other original cast members returning to the new season of “Roseanne” include Sara Gilbert (Darlene,) Michael Fishman (D.J.) and Laurie Metcalf (Jackie.) A number people involved with the show have shared some behind-the-scenes pictures of production, which wrapped in December.
