Royal Caribbean UK Is Hiring A Paid Intern To Travel And Use Instagram
We wish we could do this!
Royal Caribbean UK and Ireland is hiring someone to cruise around the world with them this summer and take pictures. Seriously.
Here’s the deal. You have to be 21, you have to love adventure and you have to be pretty darn good with all 23 Instagram filters. This “extraordinary intern-ship” (oh RC, you kill us with this pun) will take the lucky applicant to beautiful places near and far.
Unfortunately for us Americans, you also need to be a citizen of the UK or Republic of Ireland to be eligible for the position. Here’s hoping Royal Caribbean launches a stateside version of this internship very soon because, hello, we have mad Instagram skills just waiting to be used. In the meantime, tag your eligible British friends or those lucky folks who have dual citizenship.
Over three weeks, the intern will travel aboard three ships: Ovation of the Seas (Beijing), Anthem of the Seas (New York) and Freedom of the Seas (Barcelona).
Yep, this would be your office.
Unlike a lot of traditional internships, no suit is required for this one, except maybe a swimsuit. You will need flip-flops and a smartphone. Oh, and an insatiable need to document fun and adventure.
All this talk of fun and adventure is making me reflect on my own experience as an intern, and I can’t help but feel gypped.
Sure, I learned something about Photoshop and how to fundraise at my unpaid internship, but there was also that one time my boss made me watch her dog and drive her PT Cruiser for a week. Did I mention I was not paid?!
Not only will this intern have unlimited access to the ships’ zipline, restaurants and even Flowrider, but they will also get paid 3,000 pounds (about $3,600). C’mon Royal Caribbean where were you in 2001?
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, you need to jump on it. The deadline to apply is January 31. So start snapping your best travel and adventure shots, and be sure to hashtag #ExtraordinaryExplorer and tag @RoyalCaribbeanUK.
As of today, that hashtag has been used over 200,000 times. So the competition is fierce.
Just look at some of these amazing entries.
Even if you aren’t looking for an internship, these photos may inspire your next travel adventure.
