Royal Caribbean Will Pay You To Travel The World And Post On Social Media About It

Dream job alert! Cruise ship company Royal Caribbean is looking to fill a new role that will finally afford you the adventure that you’ve always wanted. The company is hiring a Shore Explorer, who will travel to places such as Alaska and Japan and post about their experience on social media. The person who fills this role will be traveling alongside photographer Russ Francis for a few weeks this summer and earning about $7,800 in the process.

Before you get too excited, though, let’s get one very important detail out of the way: This role is only open to applicants who are residents of either the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland. You also must be at 21 years of age or older to apply.

The Royal Caribbean UK first announced news of the position on Instagram with a video that makes this apprenticeship look pretty amazing:

The applicant given the title of Shore Explorer will travel to six different locations, including Osaka, Japan, and Lisbon, Portugal. Whoever applies and gets the position must be available to travel between May and August 2019.

Not only will this give one lucky person the chance to travel, but it will also give them a chance to learn skills from a professional photographer. So this is bound to be a learning experience in more ways than one.

Francis, the photographer, shared the news of his participation in the Shore Explorer program on Instagram, writing, “It’s a search similar to the internship which ran two years ago and completely changed my life, taking me on some incredible adventures!”

He continued, “I am also happy to announce that I will be one of the judges and one lucky candidate will be accompanied by myself on part of their extraordinary journey around the world.”

What is the company looking for in a Shore Explorer? A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean told Insider, “We’re looking for an adrenaline junkie who is not only hungry for adventure, but also has a unique ability to capture a moment and tell a story in a simple social media post.”
