Royal Wedding Gift Bags Are Selling On eBay
How much would you pay to get your hands on one of these?!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed in front of 600 people at St. George’s chapel, but just outside the doors of the church were the 2,640 members of the public the couple invited to be part of their big day.
In March, the palace released a statement which announced the invitation from the bride and groom to 1,200 United Kingdom residents, 200 people from charities the couple has worked with, 100 students from local schools, 610 Windsor Castle community members and 530 members of The Royal Households and Crown Estate. On the day of the wedding, each of those guests were given a gift bag to commemorate the event. But, not everyone is looking to hold on to that souvenir. Some, in fact, have taken to eBay to sell them online.
At the time of publication, there were several official bags from the royal wedding available for purchase on eBay, with the most expensive one going for more than $20,000.
The highest bid was $20,914, and there had been 49 bids on the item, which was scheduled to end on May 24:
There are more affordable options, also, however. Another listing had a high bid of $898.24 when we checked:
One had a high bid of just $182, but there was a bit of a bidding war going on, with 28 bids placed already.
In other words — it could cost you a pretty penny to get your hands on this royal wedding memorabilia. So, you have to ask yourself — is it worth it?
What’s In The Bag?
According to an eBay listing, the bag itself is monogrammed with the letters “H” and “M” and states the date of the royal wedding, May 19, 2018. As far as what’s inside the bag, let’s take a look:
1. Chocolate Coin
This commemoratively wrapped chocolate coin also has Harry and Markle’s initials embossed on it.
2. Bottle Of Water
This bottle of water comes with a very special logo.
3. Refrigerator Magnet
A little trinket to help you remember the occasion.
4. Shortbread Kit
According to the eBay listing, this recipe was made especially for the wedding day, so it’ll whip up a one-of-a-kind dessert.
5. Wedding Guest Wrist Band
It’s almost like you were really there.
The coupon is for 20-percent off at the Windsor Castle gift shop. Bonus: It looks like you can use the coupon code “WEDDINGGUEST” at the online shop even if you don’t buy the gift bag!
Reactions To The Bag
A royal wedding photographer called the bag “a lovely touch” on Twitter, and said it was a sweet way for the bride and groom to honor their guests:

But at least one Twitter user found the goody bag a little underwhelming:
Somewhat disappointed to hear about the contents of the Royal Wedding goody bag. I would have expected at least a slice of cake and a corgi
