This Russian oligarch proposed to his fiancé with a 70-carat diamond ring

Nothing says “I want to spend forever with you” quite like a 70-carat diamond. And we imagine a gift of this magnitude would be an offer most people couldn’t refuse! So, when Russian oligarch Aleksey Shapovalov proposed to model Ksenia Tsaritsina with this massive rock, she indeed said yes.

The couple have already been together for five years and have two children together, but now they’ve made their matrimony official—and they did it with a seriously lavish ceremony.

The ring Shapovalov gave his bride is said to be worth $10.5 million, so as you can imagine, the couple spared no expense on their wedding day, either.

Tsaritsina wore not one, but two, wedding gowns. Both were absolutely stunning. For the ceremony, she donned a strapless gown that was covered in beading and floral appliqué.

Here’s a shot of the beautiful bride in her first gown:

It had a ball gown skirt and a long train.

She changed out of that extravagant gown and into one that was more suitable for dancing at the reception. She paired the lace gown with a lace veil, and the combo was absolutely gorgeous.

The groom had wardrobe changes, too. He wore a black tuxedo for the ceremony and a white one for the reception.

Here’s a snap shared by one of their wedding guests, Instagram user mrsworld.

The reception was filled with chandeliers, an eight-tier wedding cake and even had special performances by the couple’s favorite rock band, Leningrad.

You can live vicariously through the photos of the wedding that were posted to social media, and trust us—they’re unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

All in all, the evening appears to be filled with love displayed by the couple and their friends and family, as well as plenty of opulence.

The bride couldn’t be more grateful for her big day, either.

“It was unbelievable,” Tsaritsina reportedly said of the epic celebration. “Thank you to our friends for sharing this wonderful day with us.”

When the bride first received her 70-carat ring, she told Russia’s Cosmopolitan magazine, “My husband is never too stingy to buy me presents,” and it looks like he made that clear on their wedding day, too.

Another Over-The-Top Wedding

This reminds us of a similarly lavish wedding that we wrote about back in June.

In that fairy-tale scenario come to life, the son of Nigerian oil-industry billionaire Folarin Alakija married Iranian model Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifar in a wedding that reportedly cost over $6 million.

As if that sum isn’t staggering enough, try this number on for size: Between the reception and the ceremony, had million flowers on display. That’s right. One million flowers!

One lucky wedding guest shared the pic of the happy couple dancing under a canopy of flowers.

Folorunso Alakija, the mother of the groom, is reportedly worth $1.69 billion. When you have that much money, dropping $6.3 million on a wedding is doable.

The ceremony was held at a in Woodstock, England. In charge of helping them make their dream wedding a reality was celebrity florist Jeff Leatham. Leatham is the man behind the floral arrangements at the Four Seasons.

He used only white flowers (roses and some orchids) to create stunning arrangements that were definitely fit for such a lavish wedding. The theme carried from the ceremony and into the reception. The flowing bouquets of cascading white petals couldn’t have been more beautiful.

In an Instagram post, the florist had this to say to the bride, “We created heaven on earth [sic] for you and your new hubby.”

Indeed they did—take a look at this other-worldly creation that Leatham shared on Instagram.
