People Are Comparing This Russian Olympic Curler To Megan Fox And Angelina Jolie

Do you see the resemblance?

People are finding all sorts of reasons to love the Winter Olympics this year. From that kid who just wanted to lick NBC’s camera to an enchanting Russian curler who apparently made a lot of people instant fans of her strange sport.

Anastasia Bryzgalova is a 25-year-old curler competing in mixed doubles competition with her partner and husband, Aleksandr Krushelnitckii. On her way to winning a bronze medal this week, Bryzgalova managed to gain quite a few admirers online. Why? Because of her resemblance to either a young Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox, depending upon whom you ask.

Twitter was flooded with people comparing the curling champion to one or both of the actresses.

“I thought curling was a sport for old balding men but Anastasia Bryzgalova be looking like Megan Fox and suddenly I love curling,” one new fan of the sport wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, others think she’s a dead ringer for Jolie.

And honestly, it’s easy to see the resemblance between the Olympic athlete and both actors. Here’s a photo of Bryzgalova:

Women are claiming to have a “girl crush” on Bryzgalova. And why not? Even without her looks, she’s an impressive person! On top of being an Olympic medalist, Bryzgalova has earned a master’s degree in physical education, sport and health, and she’s been curling for almost 10 years.

Regardless of what celebrity she may or may not look like, Bryzgalova has single-handedly brought some additional attention to the sport of curling, and as far as I’m concerned—that’s a win!

While Bryzgalova and Krushelnitckii are finished in Pyeongchang, curling action continues until Feb. 25—be sure to tune in to see if any new breakout stars appear with a broom.
