Ryan Reynolds shares the rejection letter the Avengers sent Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds has become known for his jokes, on and off the screen. So, it should come as no surprise that Reynolds is having a laugh at the expense of his foul-mouthed Marvel movie character, Deadpool.

On April 30, Reynolds tweeted a picture of a rejection letter Deadpool received from Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), in response to Deadpool asking Stark if he could join the Avengers. The note was pretty hilarious.

Stark’s written reply was plain and simple. In response to the subject line, which read “Re: Joining the Avengers,” Stark simply wrote, “No. Absolutely not.” He then suggested that Deadpool “go bother” Professor X, the leader of Marvel’s X-Men.

So, Deadpool certainly wasn’t left wondering if there could one day be a spot for him in the all-star group of superheroes, despite the fact that Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Panther and countless others recently teamed up again in “Avengers: Infinity War,” which is in theaters now.

But, Reynolds didn’t seem to have any hard feelings about his character’s rejection, as the tweet was actually meant to congratulate the movie’s cast.

“From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats,” Reynolds wrote with the photo.

After the record-breaking box office success of 2016’s “Deadpool,” Reynolds’s fan-favorite character will be back in his own movie, “Deadpool 2,” which hits theaters on May 18.
