Salsa Chicken Foil Packs Are The Perfect Meal For When You Don’t Want To Do Dishes
Weeknights just got a whole lot easier. This meal is grilled up and served to your entire family in a tin foil packet, so you can keep clean-up at a minimum.
The recipe for these salsa chicken foil packs comes from Pillsbury and will definitely be kept on rotation in my household. Not only are these individual packs easy to prepare, but they’re also easy to customize and clean when you’re finished. So, this might just become popular enough to replace taco night at your house.
And because you can eat this tasty chicken-and-rice dinner directly from the foil that it’s cooked in, you’ll have minimal dishes to clean at the end.
The only things you’ll dirty during prep are a bowl, measuring cup, cutting board, and knife (unless you purchase your bell pepper pre-chopped).
When it’s time to serve the meal, the silverware you eat with will be all that’s left for you to wash once everyone’s done with dinner.
It’s so easy you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of this sooner.
To make this new family favorite, you’ll need chicken broth, instant rice, corn, bell peppers, chicken, salsa and cheese, along with butter and spices for extra flavor. And of course, don’t forget the heavy-duty aluminum foil — it’s the real star of the show here!
Start by combining chicken broth, rice, corn and bell pepper in a bowl. Add in melted butter and oregano. From there, divide the mixture amongst four pieces of tin foil and top it with a chicken breast. Complete it by adding salsa on top:
Next, fold the tin foil so that no liquids or food can escape while cooking. Cook the packets on a grill or in the oven until the chicken is fully cooked.
Top with plenty of cheese and serve directly from the foil packet when it’s ready to eat.
Now that you’ve discovered foil-cooking, a whole new world of recipes is just waiting to be cooked and served to your family.
So if this has you in the mood to never do dishes again, you’ll want to check out these recipes, too.
For example, these chicken bacon ranch foil packets from the Crafty Morning blog require only five ingredients: chicken, broccoli, cheddar cheese, bacon and a packet of ranch seasoning.
Simply wrap it up in foil, bake and serve. It’s as simple as that!
And a recipe from Chelsea’s Messy Apron shows how simple it is to create a Philly cheesesteak-inspired bake in tin foil using little more than potatoes, green bell peppers, ground beef and plenty of provolone cheese.
One tip: Chelsea suggests seal the foil packets as tightly as possible.
“Since these packets need to be flipped, make sure the seal is good and tight on these!” she writes in the recipe.
Here’s to never having dishes pile up again!
