Sam’s Club has announced that it is now carrying USDA Prime beef, which is the highest USDA grade for beef. This type of beef is produced from young, well-fed cattle and typically has a lot of marbling. The USDA says these roasts and steaks are best cooked using dry-heat methods, such as broiling, roasting or grilling.

All Sam’s Club stores will now sell USDA Prime tenderloin, strip, sirloin and ribeye steaks. The introduction of USDA Prime products is going nationwide after a successful pilot program last year.

In celebration, the chain will give away free samples every Saturday throughout the month of February. To get yours, all you have to do is look for the demo cart at your local Sam’s Club. Hurry — the samples will only be available while supplies last!

Sam's Club

According to a press release from Sam’s Club, the addition of USDA Prime products is noteworthy because only 4 to 7 percent of all beef products receive the designation. Although this grade of beef can be found in high-end restaurants and hotels, it’s often limited at retail stores.

“Sam’s Club is proud to be able to offer all members the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional eating experience without having to pay steakhouse prices,” reads the release.
