Banana bread is a perfect gift for a host, and apparently, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has a great recipe for the sweet treat.

It’s Australian custom to “bring a plate” when invited to someone’s home, so Markle opted to bake some banana bread to bring to the home of the Woodley family, fourth-generation sheep and cattle farmers in the tiny town of Wongarbon. She also brought a tin of Fortnum & Mason Royal Blend tea to go along with her bread, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. What a good guest!

Markle and husband Prince Harry — who just announced they are expecting their first child — are on a 16-day official tour in Australia, Tonga, New Zealand and Fiji. They’ve only just begun the tour, but there have already been so many special moments, like when this adorable little boy decided to reach up and grab Prince Harry’s chin to feel his beard.

At tea with the Woodleys, Markle’s bread was a big hit, and everyone especially liked her addition of chocolate chips and ginger. The ladies of the Country Women’s Association in Wongarbon catered the tea, adding some dishes to the mix, and the CWA somehow even managed to keep the royal secret under wraps in the small town ahead of the visit, according to the Herald.

Rebecca English, royal correspondent for The Daily Mail, tweeted out some photos of the baked good, and we have to admit that Markle’s banana bread looks pretty delicious:

While in nearby Dubbo, Prince Harry got caught in the rain while giving a speech. Markle whipped out an umbrella and shielded her husband while he gave his remarks. It’s clear that these two are more in love than ever as they prepare for the arrival of their little one.

Markle’s generosity has already been paid in kind by the Australian people. During their first stop of the trip in Sydney, the royal couple received their first gifts for the baby. Australian Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove presented the royals with a stuffed kangaroo and some Ugg booties. How sweet!

“We thank you for the incredibly warm welcome and the chance to meet so many Aussies from all walks of life,” Prince Harry said during a welcoming reception. “And we genuinely couldn’t think of a better place to announce the upcoming baby — be it a boy or a girl. So, thank you very, very much.”
