The internet is obsessed with this Selena Gomez look-alike
Selena Gomez is practically the queen of the internet, as she holds the title of the “most followed person on Instagram” with 125 million devoted followers. And now it seems Gomez has a doppelgänger, who is gaining some notoriety of her own because people can’t believe the uncanny resemblance between the two women.
Sofia Solares is the 22-year-old who has the online community seeing double. One look at her Instagram profile will have you doing a double-take. Selena? No, Sofia.

Seeing the similarities?
Solares told E! News she’s gotten used to people telling her she looks like Gomez—probably because she can hardly post a photo on Instagram without someone mentioning it.
“Honestly, with time I’ve already gotten used to people saying, ‘You look like Selena Gomez,’ wherever I’ve been,” she told E! News. “It’s not something that I dislike, but I like it better when they love me for being myself.”
But, with every photo, the comments pour in on Instagram. It’s easy to see why, though. Just look at how each of them have styled this middle part.

The comments range from, “Exactly like Selena,” to “is that selena?……or im just blind by her beauty?!” And the list goes on and on.
Solares admits to being a Gomez fan (because who isn’t?!) and she doesn’t seem to mind people pointing out their similarities, but she does want people to know that she’s a different person, her own person.
But their selfie game is uncannily similar. Just look at these almost identical poses.

“There are occasions where [Gomez] can put something on or change her look etc. and when I like something I wear it or I’ll do it because it truly inspires me, but I always try to stay true to myself,” Solares told E! News. “I mean, it’s great that I look like her, but I don’t want to lose myself trying to be someone that I’m not!”
In other words, there’s so much more to her an being a Gomez look-alike, and people should admire those things about her, too.
The notion that Solares should be respected for who she is (inside and out) is definitely something Gomez would probably support, despite the fact that the singer has released no comment about the woman who could be her twin.
Gomez been candid about the pressures of fame and their effect on her. Here’s what she said on the subject during a speech she gave in 2014:
They tell me what to wear, how to look, what I should say, how I should be. Until recently, I had given into that pressure. I lost sight of who I was. I listened to opinions and I tried to change who I am because I thought others would accept me for it. And I realized that I don’t know how to be anything but myself.
